hey, is there a way (program, website, any sort of prebuilt algorithm) to determine the most frequent patterns of bytes among a group of files? I have an idea for a compression format that uses simple lookup tables for patterns of bytes that I want to try and implement

I’m working on an AP server in crystal lang.
Goals are
- Easily themeable without having to recompile, asset compile etc.
- Themes editable in the admin interface
- Integrated fallback rendering i.e. if you hit it without us/css turned on you get a brutaldon like experience
- All settings configable in the admin UI without server restart
- Otherwise shooting for feature parody with mastodon/pleroma

I've seen this image show up on my dash a few times, with replies full of people losing their shit over it. And seriously, the idea of patenting (or even owning) plants enrages me as much as it enrages you. Probably more.

But here's the thing. This is nothing to do with GMOs or late stage capitalism. In the USA, this has been happening since the U.S. Plant Patent Act of 1930.

This is what American capitalism has always been.
